Non-Fused and O/L Indicators for Phonemic Synthesis Test

Jack Katz, PhD, CCC-A/SLP

February 1, 2010

Question

Can you review the Non-fused and O/L indicators for the Phonemic Synthesis test?

Answer

Non-fused indicator is either saying the word in two or more parts (da-res for "dress" or m-i-l-k for "milk") or saying the sounds rather individually but pushing them together (e.g., mmiillk). O for L is a response such as 'chiod' for 'child' or 'code' for 'cold'.
