The presentation will discuss effective clinical teaching strategies that promote active learning and encourage students to become critical thinkers and problem solvers. Strategies such as constructive feedback, directed questioning, case based instruction and self reflection encourage student centered learning.

The material, information and importance of the topic made it a good course. However, the wording of the exam questions did not always reflect how material was presented. For example, in the exam "adult learning" was a term used and I think discussing attributes of adult learning would be beneficial to have included in the course material.

Manager Audiology Clinical Education, Assistant Professor, Rush University Medical Center

Joanne Schupbach, M.S., M.A.  is an Assistant Professor at Rush University and a clinical audiologist at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. She is also the Manager of Audiology Clinical Education for the Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences. Her interests are in the areas of student mentoring and clinical teaching. She has served on various university, hospital and professional organization committees.
