Course Abstract XCEL-Fit is Siemens' new fitting strategy available in CONNEXX™ 6.5 fitting software designed to accelerate spontaneous acceptance and promote long-term satisfaction. Based on NAL-NL2, XCEL-Fit incorporates the concept of Effective Audibility, as well as a proprietary model for sound quality. In this session, differences between XCEL-Fit and alternative fitting formulas will be discussed. Course Presenters Catherine Jons, AuD Catherine received her graduate degree in Audiology from the University of Wisconsin and her doctorate in Audiology from the Central Michigan University. Catherine previously worked with the University of Minnesota Medical Center as an Audiologist and hearing aid program coordinator. She also worked clinically at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Johns Hopkins Hospital. In her role as Education Specialist Catherine is responsible for providing both customer and staff education on Siemens products and services. Jennifer Gehlen, AuD Educational Specialist Jennifer Gehlen, Au.D., received her undergraduate and graduate degrees including her Masters and Au.D. from the University of Florida. She has previously worked for Siemens in the roles of staff audiologist providing manufacturing and customer support and as a training consultant. She has practiced audiology in a variety of clinic and hospital settings in northern California and in Florida in the Tampa Bay area over the past 18 years. As an Educational Specialist, she provides training to staff and customers on Siemens technology, services, and software.
