OAEs are essential for successful hearing screening in the preschool population, especially for children under 4 years. This course reviews the importance of preschool hearing screening for successful EHDI (Early Hearing Detection and Intervention) programs and a strategy for hearing screening of young children that relies heavily on the use of OAE technology.
The purpose of this course is to provide the latest in OAE measurement, test interpretation and reporting of transient and distortion product otoacoustic emissions using the GSI Corti, GSI Data Manager and GSI Corti Auto Print functionality. An in-depth review of the DPOAE normative data that is included with the Corti device and database will provide guidance for diagnostic OAE test interpretation. Reporting and printing options will focus on improving workflow in the busy clinic and on EMR solutions.

The webinar is a practical review of an infant hearing screening strategy that combines OAE and automated ABR measurements. Advantages of the combined approach are emphasized. This course is the second in a 3-course series on the topic of otoacoustic emissions (OAEs) for audiologists that will be presented on AudiologyOnline in June 2015. The series provides the whys and hows to using OAEs clinically in the audiological evaluation of both children and adults, as well as their use in newborn hearing screening.
This 3-part course series provides the whys and hows to using OAEs clinically in the audiological evaluation of both children and adults, as well as their use in newborn hearing screening.

The webinar is a summary of evidence-based applications of OAEs. Rationale, justification, and clinical suggestions are provided for the use of OAEs in pediatric and adult populations. This course is the third in a 3-course series on the topic of otoacoustic emissions (OAEs) for audiologists that will be presented on AudiologyOnline in June 2015. The series provides the whys and hows to using OAEs clinically in the audiological evaluation of both children and adults, as well as their use in newborn hearing screening.
The webinar offers practical guidelines for recording and analyzing OAEs in clinical audiology. Topics covered include OAE test protocols, trouble-shooting problems in OAE measurement, and criteria for analysis of OAE findings. This course is the first in a 3-course series on the topic of otoacoustic emissions (OAEs) for audiologists that will be presented on AudiologyOnline in June 2015. The series provides the whys and hows to using OAEs clinically in the audiological evaluation of both children and adults, as well as their use in newborn hearing screening.
This course will discuss ways to optimize DPOAE measurements for use in serial monitoring of cochlear function. Approaches for determining the most appropriate stimulus paradigm and criteria for a significant DPOAE change will be described. Instruction on how to determine your own clinics variability will also be provided.

This text course provides an overview of the history of otoacoustic emissions (OAEs) and their uses in audiological assessment in an engaging Q & A format. It is the first part in a 2-part series – part 2 will address more of the nuts and bolts of the clinical applications of OAEs.
Otoacoustic emissions (OAEs) are used in clinical audiology every day for numerous applications from newborn hearing screening to differential diagnostics, however what do we really know about them? In this session, the instructor will provide an overview of otoacoustic emissions, describe emerging research on sources, and discuss evidence-based practice for clinical application.
