This course is part of the 10th Annual Noise Induced Hearing Loss Webinar Series on AudiologyOnline. Audiologists and students should be aware of the risk signs and predictors of suicide and how to assess this risk, so this presentation will include a list of suicide warning signs and some suggestions for how to react when a patient discloses this intent. Crisis resources and personal experience with this issue will be shared.

The Resound Relief app is a comprehensive tool that addresses all aspects of tinnitus management, not just the sound therapy component. With regular updates and collaborations with key opinion leaders in tinnitus research and treatment, the ReSound Relief app continuously evolves to offer more benefits to both tinnitus patients and clinicians. This course reviews the components of the ReSound Relief app along with the underlying rationale and evidence for its features.

Widex Zen Therapy (WZT), an integrated approach to tinnitus patient management consisting of acoustic therapy (fractal tones and/or filtered noise), amplification, counseling (both instructional and adjustment based via cognitive behavioral intervention) and relaxation exercises (including sleep management strategies) has been proven to be an effective method for helping tinnitus sufferers manage this very difficult symptom.
In this course, an examination of the evolution and rationale of WZT and its individual components will be detailed. Each component of the integrated therapy will be described. The results of several recent independent, multi-site clinical investigations will be examined and analyzed with regard not only to success (and failure) rate, but also why, and for which patients, this approach applies. There will be a demonstration of the software required to program the sound therapy components of WZT as well as a discussion of future trends.

This course is designed to educate clinicians on how to use the ReSound Relief app with their tinnitus patients, as well as how to incorporate the ReSound Relief app into their overall tinnitus practice. This course will act as a tutorial on how to navigate through the ReSound Relief app and how to maximize the features it offers.

This presentation will discuss data on using acoustic and electric stimulation to suppress chronic tinnitus, and will suggest treatment strategies. This course is presented in partnership with American Auditory Society.
