Neurological maturation and neural plasticity of the auditory system will be discussed. Current best practice protocols and standards will be outlined to maximize auditory brain development from an audiological and early interventionist perspective. The importance a team approach to the management of a child's hearing loss will be detailed.

Clinical Ed Director, Hearing Enrichment Program
Dr. Caraway is the Clinical Education Director for the Hearing Enrichment Language Program, dedicated to developing the listening and speaking skills of children who are deaf or hard of hearing. A Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist working as a Speech-Language Pathologist for twenty-four years, Dr. Caraway currently serves as the President of the AG Bell Academy for Listening and Spoken Language and as a Director of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. She has previously served on the Board of Directors for Auditory-Verbal International (AVI). She has been recognized by the Oklahoma Speech-Language-Hearing Association with the Gwen Cacy Award for outstanding clinical skills. Dr. Caraway is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, a consultant and an accomplished international presenter blending research into clinical application.
