This seminar is appropriate for professionals who work with young hearing impaired children and their families. It provides information regarding the importance of early identification and intervention, and provides recommendations for ways parents and professionals can work together to facilitate successful outcomes with such children.

Course Objectives
- Participants will be able to identify the effects of hearing loss on development.
- Participants will be able to identify the importance of early identification and intervention on outcomes obtained by children with a severe to profound hearing loss.
- Participants will be able to identify IDEA and its applicability to children with hearing loss.
- Participants will be able to describe ways that professionals can work together to facilitate successful outcomes for children with hearing loss.
