This HOPE seminar will address the need for comprehensive audiologic and communication management of the youngest patients identified as deaf, who are "on track" to receive a cochlear implant(s) at or about 12 months of age. Comprehensive audiologic diagnostic and treatment plans will be presented, along with recommendations for early intervention to promote communication, including listening for spoken language development. A variety of audiologic (re)habilitation materials will be highlighted for the seminar participants.

Course Objectives
Participants will be able to describe the components of a pediatric audiology best practices diagnostic plan and several audiologic treatment plans for infants/toddlers with hearing loss.
Participants will be able to describe amplification options for infants/toddlers for patients birth through 12-months of age.
Participants will be able to list pediatric cochlear implant candidacy criteria.
Participants will be able to discuss several auditory teaching techniques for stimulating listening for spoken language development.
