Newborn hearing screening follow-up, audiologic diagnosis and treatment is a critically important piece of Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) program success. It is the audiologist who provides the diagnosis, related family counseling and referrals, and amplification; as such, knowledge of contemporary, evidence-based practice is required.
Course Objectives
- Readers will be able to describe the test battery for infants.
- Readers will be able to list high-risk factors influencing childhood hearing loss.
- Readers will be able to specify the factors that should lead to a cochlear implant candidacy evaluation.
