President & Editor-in-Chief
As Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Dybala oversees all aspects of the news and information section of the website including the scheduling and moderating of the AudiologyOnline Live Expert e-Seminars. His role as President of the company has him focused on the overall goals and directions of the company and overseeing various other aspects of the company and maintaining relationships with corporate partners. He earned his Masters and Ph.D. in audiology from the University of Texas at Dallas / Callier Center. He has experience as a clinical audiologist specializing in adult and pediatric hearing aid fittings, and as research audiologist and lecturer in the area of adult amplification. He has published and presented on various aspects of hearing aid technology and the internet.
Dr. Dybala was one of the internet pioneers for the profession launching the first internet based audiology company in 1996 and built and maintained several ground breaking and innovative web sites for the profession. He currently holds an appointment as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Dallas where he teaches an Au.D. level amplification course. He is one of the earGuys at earTunes.com. He volunteers as President of the Scott Haug Foundation board and also serves as a peer reviewer for the International Journal of Audiology.
Joanne Slater, M.S.

Ms. Slater coordinates and supervises all news and information items posted on AudiologyOnline. This includes working with the editor to obtain answers for the very popular "Ask the Expert" section of the website. Ms. Slater is responsible for maintaining the publication schedule established by the editor-in-chief and communications with various news sources relating to research and the hearing healthcare industry. As CEU Administrator, she is in charge of the accreditation process for all courses on AudiologyOnline. Ms. Slater earned her Master's degree from Washington University of St. Louis, Central Institute for the Deaf, and has 15 years of experience working as an audiologist in various clinical settings.
