Interactive Build myNeptune iPad Application and Fun Freestyle Contest for the Waterproof Neptune Sound Processor Make Big Waves at AG Bell Convention.

Valencia, CA, July 10, 2012 - Advanced Bionics (AB), the global leader in cochlear implant technology and a subsidiary of the Sonova Group, made a big splash at the recent AG Bell 2012 Convention in Scottsdale, AZ, with the launch of its iPad® app for Neptune™, the world's first and only swimmable sound processor. AB also hosted a "Show Us Your Freestyle" contest.

Debuted on June 29, the Build myNeptune™ app for iPad devices is now available as a free download from the App Store. The interactive app allows users to create their ideal Neptune look by choosing from hundreds of fashion-forward color combinations. Touchfriendly features include the ability to:

  • Mix and match colors and cables
  • Spin Neptune in a 360-degree rotation
  • Create their favorite swimmable configuration
  • Instantly share their custom Neptune look on Facebook and Twitter
  • Email their custom Neptune style to themselves, their clinician and friends
For the freestyle™ contest, conference attendees drew colorful pictures illustrating how they would customize and wear their Neptune processor. Participants of all ages enjoyed showing how they are free to style their Neptune. The winners will be announced on the Advanced Bionics page on Facebook in July.

The freestyle™ contest held at the AG Bell Convention will be followed by a new online contest starting next month. Visitors are encouraged to submit drawings, videos, and photographs of their own Neptune styles for a chance to win one of the grand prizes. Check back at myABfreestyle.com for details.

The Neptune processor was a showstopper at the AG Bell 2012 Convention, according to Dr. Gerhard Roehrlein, CEO and CTO of Advanced Bionics, LLC.

"Our Neptune sound processor is taking the industry by storm. We at Advanced Bionics are proud to offer the only processor in the market that helps recipients hear while swimming, bathing and showering," said Dr. Roehrlein. "Neptune has been in very high demand since it was introduced earlier this year. Families continue to tell us all the time that this product is life-changing."

In addition to offering the industry's only waterproof technology, Neptune features the market's only freestyle™ design for the most flexible wearing styles ever. With the variety of convenient accessories, the Neptune processor allows recipients to wear it anywhere and way they choose, such as in the hair, on an arm, under a collar, in a pocket - a high level of flexibility not available in the market until now. And for those who prefer a more discreet look, it can also be tucked away easily.

Developed for hearing in and out of the water, Neptune also comes fully compatible with the industry's most advanced hearing technology, including ClearVoice™*, HiRes Fidelity 120™*, and AutoSound™, also exclusively from Advanced Bionics.
