New, refined design combined with high fidelity natural sound delivers what patients want.

Moxi KissMarch 18, 2013 - Kitchener, Canada – Unitron today announced Moxi™ Kiss, the newest 312 receiver in canal (RIC) hearing instrument with a design aimed at improving patient acceptance.  The latest product to be released on the Era™ platform, Moxi Kiss marries a fluid, refined design with Unitron’s commitment to delivering high fidelity natural sound.

Putting Patient Comfort First

Moxi Kiss represents an evolution in design for Unitron’s Moxi product family, putting the comfort of the patient at the forefront.  Designed to look great in the hand and provide maximum visual appeal for the first time wearer, Moxi Kiss delivers the perfect balance of fit, finish, and colour. The hearing instrument is organic in form, with a refined and luxurious finish, and is available in a rich colour palette. Slim, smooth and push button free, Moxi Kiss is extremely comfortable to wear.

“One of the barriers a hearing healthcare practitioner must overcome is the patient’s psychological resistance to the product – as new patients often express anxiety around the look and feel of a hearing instrument,” explains Bruce Brown, Vice President, Global Marketing, Unitron.  “A well designed hearing instrument that is pleasing to the eye, nearly invisible on the ear, and comfortable to wear can go far in overcoming a patient’s pre-conceived notions about what hearing aids look and feel like. Moxi Kiss delivers on every count.”

A natural sound experience free of acoustical artifacts is also essential for a patient’s comfort.  Moxi Kiss continues to deliver on the high fidelity natural sound Unitron’s Moxi product family has come to stand for. Within Moxi Kiss is Unitron’s Automatic Program incorporating SmartFocus™ and SpeechZone™ technologies which provide natural sound quality, outstanding speech intelligibility in noise and undetectable transitions to changing sound environments.

Intelligent Design

The intelligent industrial design of Moxi Kiss achieves a delicate balance between a fluid and refined outer shell design with functionality, both in performance and ease of use.  The hearing instrument’s patent pending outer shell was meticulously designed including precision of the tooling to the micron level and G2 curvature to ensure a luxurious finish.

Moxi Kiss’ mechanical design was also taken to a new level.  A RIC slider pin makes changing receivers an effortless task.  The programming jack is angled for easy cable plug in for fitting.  Codification markers are easy to install and visible, and the battery door won’t over open or allow the battery to fall out.  These seemingly little refinements come together to make the fit and use of the Moxi Kiss easier for both the HHCP and the patient.

Increasing patient acceptance with Flex:trial

Moxi Kiss is available through Unitron’s new Flex:trial™ program, a unique product and service concept only available from Unitron that offers HHCPs a risk-free opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of hearing instruments. Patients wear a personalized Moxi Kiss Flex:trial device home after the first appointment for a trial period, allowing them to experience the benefits in real, everyday situations.  Experiencing the benefits of wearing Moxi Kiss without risk or obligation helps to reduce any uncertainty while immediately improving the quality of life for those patients.

”Unitron is committed to building a global brand recognized for its commitment to helping its customers achieve success in their business, and for developing hearing instruments with excellent performance and commercial appeal,” says Jan Metzdorff, President, Unitron.  “Over the last couple years, we have taken significant leaps in sound quality with our Era platform, and our Quantum and Moxi product families.  Now, with Moxi Kiss we take another leap forward in the design of our hearing instruments – creating a hearing instrument that is both beautiful in form, and powerful in performance.”
