October 17th, 2013 – Plymouth MN, USA – Unitron Director of Practice Development and Clinical Affairs, Brian Taylor Au.D., brings awareness to the importance of hearing healthcare  in a special  segment on Baby Boomers in America, a new television series appearing on the Lifetime Network dedicated to exploring all aspects of the boomer lifestyle.

In this episode, Brian sits down with host Morgan Fairchild to discuss the potential causes of hearing loss; the ways hearing loss affects a person’s working and personal life; and options for treatment.  Dr. Taylor also highlights Unitron’s innovative Flex:Trial™ program, the industry’s first truly risk-and obligation-free option for patients newly diagnosed with hearing loss to ‘test drive’ personalized hearing instruments for a period of time in their everyday listening situations.

“With one in five boomers facing hearing loss, it is absolutely critical we bring awareness to this segment of the population about hearing healthcare.  It’s terrific that programs such as Boomers in America are devoting time and attention to this, helping to educate our population on how to seek help, while removing the perception barriers that often prevent people from trying hearing aids in the first place,” says Steve Savage, President and CEO, Unitron US.

The first Baby Boomers in America’s episode on hearing loss solutions featuring Brian Taylor aired Lifetime TV on October 12th at 8-8:30am ET/PT and Lifetime Real Women with a second airing on November 9th at 8:30-9am ET. The full episode is also available on Unitron’s YouTube channel.
