Question

How can patients best use Phonak Paradise hearing aids when working remotely?

Answer

When paired with Phonak Paradise™ hearing aids, Phonak Roger™ microphones are a gamechanger for professionals with hearing loss, especially as they continue to work remotely. And after a simple installation of Roger receivers, patients can boost their hearing performance in noise and over distance without attaching an external receiver.

Let’s look at what a “typical” day can be for a professional who wears Paradise hearing aids and is working remotely. Most adults share spaces with their family, so their home is the office, school, social activity space and more. So, on a good day, they may have preschoolers on Zoom calls while spouses are teaching grade-schoolers fractions in the background. Plus, there’s probably a lot of TV, Spotify, arguing and bargaining also happening in the background. And while patients want to know what their family is up to, if they’re meeting with team members on calls, the professionals need to hear coworkers’ ideas more than they need to hear their kids’ playtime.

Having Roger Select™ plugged into a computer allows Phonak Paradise hearing aid wearers to stream the audio signal from Teams and WebEx straight into the hearing aids. This keeps the speakers on their call the primary voice that their brain can focus on.

So, during work, Roger Select is supportive because the professional can contribute normally to the team dynamics. Plus, he/she doesn’t need to remove the hearing aids and pop in earbuds to stream conversations and then replace the earbuds at the end of the conversation. Which depending on the call volume the professional experiences during a normal workday, it could be every other 30 minutes.
