Manager of Education and Therapy, MED-EL
MaryKay is a speech-language pathologist and certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist who has over 20 years of experience working with children who have hearing loss. She received her BA and MS in Communication Disorders from California State University Northridge. She was a member of the cochlear implant team at Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland for 15 years and The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for seven years. Currently, she is the Manager of Education and Therapy for MED-EL. She co-authored AuSpLan and co-developed and co-instructed the Professional Preparation in Cochlear Implants (PPCI) program. She has presented nationally and internationally. She has provided short courses for professional organizations and seminars, workshops and in-services to school districts along with guest lecturing and mentoring students at several state universities.
