This one hour seminar focuses on the role of the aural rehabilitation professional on a cochlear implant team when treating adults seeking bilateral implantation. The presenter will discuss via lecture, case presentations and videos key concepts pertinent to the evaluation process, candidate selection and follow up therapy. The role of each person on the cochlear implant team will be discussed to demonstrate the importance of the team approach.

Linda Daniel is a Licensed Audiologist and a Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist. Her academic training includes the University of Iowa, University of Denver and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her aural rehabilitation practice blends her audiology background with study in the fields of communication development, communication disorders and cognitive psychology. She is a frequent presenter at AAA, ASHA, AG Bell and state conferences. She is a guest lecturer at universities in North Texas and conducts webinars for online continuing education programs. Linda served on the Certification Council of Auditory-Verbal International, has participated in research documenting sensory processing disorders in children with hearing loss and is Chair of the Education Committee of the Dallas Hearing Foundation.
Linda is owner and director of HEAR In Dallas, a private practice dedicated to aural rehabilitation services for patients ranging from infants to seniors. As the aural rehabilitation consultant on our cochlear implant team, she performs the communication and education evaluations of prospective implant candidates. She and her staff provide the aural rehab services to our patients. Lindas mission is to assist patients in leading lives within the hearing/speaking mainstream when possible. Her special interest is working with children with hearing loss and multiple disorders.
