Being able to efficiently and effectively program instruments is an integral part of the fitting process. In this seminar, the step-by-step process with Genie fitting software will be reviewed. In addition, tools available in the software to assist with fine tuning were shown.
- The participant will be able to explain the process of pairing and connecting the Oticon Opn instruments to the computer using Genie2 software.
- The participant will be able to describe the importance of Personalization of the fitting and understand the steps necessary to follow this procedure.
- The participant will be able to explain how to find the Open Sound Navigator screen in Genie2 and how to adjust the controls to meet patient needs and listening preferences.
- The participant will be able to demonstrate how to connect and program these instruments using Genie programming and fine tuning steps.
- The participant will be able to demonstrate where to find helpful tools such as Videos and Cable Guides within the software.

Chalese Buttars is an Education & Training Specialist for Oticon, Inc. Chalese provides training and CEU education predominantly for the West region. Prior to Oticon, she completed her fourth year in an ENT setting. Chalese also worked as the Director of International Programs for Starkey Hearing Foundation, where she developed education materials and provided training for hearing care providers overseas. She is an honors graduate of the Au.D. program at Utah State University.
