It is often assumed that there is limited or no Insurance coverage for therapy post cochlear implantation, particularly for adults. The reality is that most of the major insurance carriers recognize the importance of appropriate (re)habilitation to maximize outcomes and may even state that such services are medically necessary. This seminar will explore the variations in coverage and payment as well as how an individual therapist or recipient may pursue improved reimbursement.
- Participants will be able to describe the range of coverage allowed for therapy post cochlear implantation for children and adults
- Participants will be able to describe how to pursue strategies to improve coverage or payment from an individual private carrier
- Participants will be able to describe various coverage options outside of private insurance
