Electrical Stapedius Reflex Thresholds (ESRTs) are an objective measure available for corroborating loudness level measures in cochlear implant recipients. Sydney Bednarz, Au.D. and Julia Reid, Au.D. from Chattering Children will review their protocol and success with programming children with MED-EL cochlear implants and utilizing ESRT measures.

The FDA has recently approved MED-EL cochlear implants for persons with Single-Sided Deafness (SSD) or Asymmetric Hearing Loss (AHL). Michaela Stapp, Au.D., co-director of the Adult Cochlear Implant Program at Baylor College of Medicine, will review their SSD/AHL candidate evaluation and testing protocol as well as a few SSD/AHL case studies.
