Mindfulness Based Tinnitus Stress Reduction: Healing from Home During A Pandemic
Stress is a key contributor to tinnitus bother experienced by millions around the world during the Covid outbreak. Health concerns, social isolation, and financial instability have all contributed to fear and stress during this worldwide pandemic. Recent research on the online version of the 8-week skill building program, Mindfulness Based Tinnitus Stress Reduction (MBTSR), developed and researched by the presenter at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), is presented with results from a Covid sample. The critical role stress reduction plays in effective management of sound sensitivity disorders such as tinnitus and hyperacusis is explored.
