Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Audiologist or Hearing Instrument Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating hearing disorders in adult patients. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare setting. The Audiologist or Hearing Instrument Specialist will utilize their expertise to provide comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans while utilizing people skills to encourage patients to use devices they need to maximize their hearing and improve their quality of life.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough audiological evaluations to assess hearing functions.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on assessment results.
  • Provide counseling and education to patients and families regarding hearing loss, treatment options, and device usage.
  • Fit, dispense, and maintain hearing aids and other assistive listening devices.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including Otolaryngologists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using computerized systems.
  • Stay updated on advancements in audiology practices and technologies.
  • Demonstrate aseptic techniques during procedures when necessary.

Skills

  • Strong customer service skills to effectively interact with patients and their families.
  • Proficiency in Excel for data management and reporting purposes.
  • In-depth knowledge of anatomy related to the auditory system.
  • Excellent communication skills for clear patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams.
  • Leadership abilities to guide support staff and contribute to team objectives.
  • Understanding of physiology related to hearing mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of Otolaryngology principles as they relate to audiological health.
  • Ability to apply aseptic techniques in clinical settings when required.
