Online Digital Hearing Aid Exhibit Now in 3D

July 17, 2006—The Washington University School of Medicine Bernard Becker Medical Library is pleased to announce the release of a new digital exhibit, Exploring Object Virtual Reality: A Manual for Libraries and Museums, beckerexhibits.wustl.edu/3D/index.html which documents best practices and standards in the application of Object Virtual Reality (VR) to small-to-medium sized artifacts. The project includes twenty Object VR images, documentation of best practices including images of the process, recommended guidelines, a listing of equipment/materials, and references related to Object VR.

The Object VR digital collection is based on twenty historic hearing devices from the Central Institute for the Deaf-Max A. Goldstein Historic Devices for Hearing Collection at Washington University Bernard Becker Medical Library. These devices and others from the collection are featured in the Deafness in Disguise, beckerexhibits.wustl.edu/did/ digital exhibit.
