Question
I am trying to find out the best CPT code for the canalith repositioning procedure. Is there a code that can be used for insurance reimbursement?
Answer
There are presently no AMA CPT codes for any vestibular treatments including the canalith repositioning procedure. Physical Therapists bill by using other codes through extrapolation, i.e. neuromuscular re-education etc. They are paid in 15 minute units of anywhere from $18-25. You may want to simply charge for the procedure. If they are Medicare get an ABN signed. Check with your billing/coding person for details.
