Question

What is the most recent CPT code for a RIC Hearing Aid?

Answer

While there are not CPT codes for hearing aids (products) there are CPT codes for hearing aid services.

There are really three options (as there is no code specific to a RIC). It is important to review your third-party contracts and fee schedules and determine which code is reimbursed most favorably for the specific payer in question.

The options are:

V5060 (hearing aid, monaural, behind the ear;V5140 is its binaural correlate)

V5757 (hearing aid, digital, monaural, BTE;V5261 is its binaural correlate)

V5298 (hearing aid not otherwise specified)

Thanks for your question!
