Question
Is there any CPT code for the poor man (Foam and dome tests)CDP, head thrust, and the VAT tests? If yes, what other specifications need to be included in your reports? What about Gan''s SOT tests?
Answer
The are no CPT codes for those tests. The current codes cover CDP, ENG, Hallpike (with recording and a separate code for without recording). For the procedures listed above, the appropriate code would be 92700 (unlisted otolaryngologic procedure) with report. The elements of the report should include why the patient was referred for the procedure (i.e., the medical necessity of the referral), what you did, what you found, your conclusions, and your recommendations.
