Audiologist – Full-Time

Position Summary

Thayne A. Hedges Regional Speech and Hearing Center is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and patient-centered full-time Audiologist to join our team in Enid, Oklahoma.

Hedges is a well-established nonprofit speech and hearing center dedicated to improving communication and quality of life through comprehensive speech, language, and hearing services. We serve patients from across Northwest Oklahoma and surrounding communities, providing care across the lifespan—from infants and children to adults and senior citizens.

The Audiologist will provide comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative audiological services, with an emphasis on quality patient care, education, hearing conservation, and helping individuals maximize their ability to communicate and participate fully in their homes, schools, workplaces, and communities.

Essential Responsibilities

The Audiologist will be responsible for providing a full range of audiological services, including, but not limited to:

• Perform comprehensive audiological evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

• Assess and diagnose hearing and auditory disorders using behavioral and electrophysiological measures as appropriate.

• Conduct and interpret diagnostic hearing evaluations and other audiological testing.

• Evaluate patients for hearing technology and make appropriate recommendations based on individual communication needs, lifestyle, and financial considerations.

• Select, fit, program, verify, and troubleshoot hearing aids and other amplification devices.

• Provide hearing aid orientations, follow-up care, maintenance, and counseling.

• Counsel patients and families regarding hearing loss, treatment options, communication strategies, and expected outcomes.

• Provide age-appropriate counseling and support for pediatric patients and their families, including discussion of educational and communication implications of hearing loss.

• Assess and counsel patients experiencing tinnitus and provide appropriate management recommendations or referrals.

• Educate patients and families regarding hearing conservation, noise exposure, and hearing protection.

• Participate in newborn, school-age, and community hearing screening programs as needed.

• Make appropriate referrals to physicians, ENTs, speech-language pathologists, educators, and other healthcare professionals.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records in accordance with professional standards and applicable regulations.

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, educators, and other members of the healthcare team.

• Participate in community outreach, education, and hearing-health promotion activities.

• Maintain professional knowledge and skills through continuing education and professional development.

• Follow Hedges policies, procedures, ethical standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.

• Perform other duties consistent with the role and mission of Hedges Speech and Hearing Center.

Qualifications

Education

• Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from an accredited program preferred.

• Master's degree in Audiology with appropriate clinical experience and licensure will be considered.

Experience

• Completion of an accredited clinical externship required.

• 1–3 years of clinical experience preferred; new graduates who demonstrate strong clinical skills and a commitment to patient-centered care are encouraged to apply.

Licensure & Certification

• Current Oklahoma Audiology license or eligibility for Oklahoma licensure.

• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) or eligibility for certification.

• Must maintain all licenses and certifications required to practice audiology in Oklahoma.
