Professional Leadership Award winners are chosen based on their positive attitude and strong work ethic throughout their Au.D. program, their involvement in professional activities to promote the profession and patient care, and their dedication to public service.

Dr. Berry, a graduate of the residential Au.D. program, was extremely active in audiology student groups, and also participated in hearing screening programs in the local community. Her academic, clinical and interpersonal skills were highly rated, and she also served as a teaching assistant.

Dr. Holmes has been active in the Florida Academy of Audiology, as well as his local community, and showed a willingness and enthusiasm to learn and share information throughout his Au.D. education. Dr. Holmes is in practice at Holmes Audiology, LLC.

Dr. Worgul has been actively involved in the Connecticut Academy of Audiology, has mentored new audiologists in private practice, and has served as a supervisor to students at both the University of Connecticut and the University of Rhode Island. He is in private practice and also director of clinical services at County Hearing and Balance in Connecticut.

Dr. Eiten has volunteered extensively with numerous professional organizations and has presented and written on many topics related to pediatric audiology. She is clinical coordinator and senior staff audiologist at Boys Town National Research Hospital in Nebraska.

The AFA is an educational foundation whose mission is to empower audiologists to be independent and autonomous practitioners by supporting their educational preparation, professional practice and leadership development.
