AFA/Starkey Campaign State Rally

Share:

We need your help. The Audiology Foundation of America (AFA) is in the middle of its 2006 Annual Campaign - and the most exciting part of that is the dollar for dollar match (up to $50,000) that Starkey will provide this year.

Your gift will be doubled, and will have extra impact to improve our professional future during this particularly important year. A $100 donation actually provides $200 to fund improvements in audiology education.

  • As always, our mission remains to support audiology's transition to the Au.D. - and we won't stop until we see our environment completely changed (a doctor of audiology degree required for new licensure, consumers understanding that Au.D.s are the experts in hearing and balance care, new AuDs consistently prepared to begin careers, etc.).

  • Almost twenty-five percent of the profession now holds the Au.D. - bringing us even closer to the magical "tipping point."

  • Please consider a donation to the AFA and help us continue to work for change (Your donation will be doubled by Starkey if you act now!).

We offer several cool audiology incentives this year for donors (Au.D. Survivor necklace, t-shirt, lobby posters, etc.) and have a secure website available for online donations.

Won't you join your colleagues in making a difference to improve patient care? Donations are tax-deductible and every gift supports our profession along the road to independence.

Donate on the secure AFA website or call to contribute (765-743-6283). We need your help!

Sincerely,

Kenneth L. Lowder, Au.D., Director and Chair

Audiology Foundation of America

P.S. Here are some details about what we've been doing to support the profession. You can also read more in our new Annual Report.

  • The AFA supports students with scholarships - over $600,000 in total so far, and $73,000 slated for 2006 (such as for Outstanding Au.D. Students, mentoring programs, and other practitioner based scholarships).

  • The AFA supports students by funding white coat ceremonies to encourage professional attitudes - planning to do 10-15 in 2006.

  • The AFA supports the Au.D. with education: press releases, articles and advertisements in all major audiology publications.

  • The AFA publishes the new AuD News six times a year to keep Au.D.s informed about current efforts in the profession. Subscribe by sending us your contact information.
