Share:

Washington, D.C.: American Cochlear Implant Alliance (ACI Alliance) is launching a search committee for the next Executive Director of the organization. After nearly 13 years growing ACI Alliance in scope and influence, founding Executive Director Donna Sorkin will be stepping down in 2026 and helping the next Executive Direction transition into the role.

The next executive director should be a motivated, experienced individual who will work under the direction of the Board of Directors, advancing the organizational mission by overseeing all aspects of the organization. Functions include day-to-day administrative oversight, strategic leadership and collaboration/partnership, financial management, fundraising, support and supervision of staff and outsourced contractor services, coordination of the annual CI conference, membership, advocacy, outreach, and driving operational goals and functions for all levels of the organization.

A comprehensive knowledge of hearing loss is hugely beneficial, and dedicated experience with cochlear implantation with a passion for the mission of expanding access is highly preferable.

Since its initiation in 2012, ACI Alliance has grown to be the respected voice of the cochlear implant community in the United States and around the world. As the founding Executive Director, Donna has blended her professional experience at other hearing loss organizations with her personal experience with hearing loss to lead that growth. Her leadership at ACI Alliance has been instrumental and will continue to benefit the organization as she assists the next Exeutive Director into the role.
