Company Raises the Bar on Helping Patients Hear Better in Noisy Environments with Beltone One!

Chicago, IL, June 13 — Beltone officially raised the bar on hearing performance in noise with the introduction of the company's most advanced product, the Beltone One! on June 13th. In addition to the One!, Beltone also launched a nine channel instrument, LinQ, to round out its growing product line. Both products are available in all custom shell styles as well as BTE and mini BTEs along with "open" configurations.

Featuring new technology that imitates the way the human auditory system works, One! and LinQ provide unsurpassed sound quality by constantly and seamlessly adapting to the patient's sound environment.

"Hearing speech better in noise has consistently been the biggest challenge for hearing aid wearers," said John Cariola, Director of Product Management, Beltone USA. "With the launch of One! Beltone delivers real patient benefit in these difficult listening environments. The combination of Smart Beam adaptive directionality and the Sound Cleaner noise reduction algorithm, results in significant improvement in overall performance."

Shadow Technology Gets Closer to Nature

The 17-channel One! is Beltone's most advanced and best performing circuit ever for helping patients in noisy environments. Through the use of advanced "Shadow Technology" One! offers several new product features. They include:

  • Sound Cleaner - Beltone's new noise-reduction algorithm is active in all 17 channels.

  • Smart Beam - Adaptive directionality with three beam-width choices to match the patient's needs in virtually any kind of environment.

  • Speech Spotter - Microphone system automatically switches to adaptive directionality when the circuit determines the noise level is too high. This keeps the patient from having to switch programs.
Both One! and LinQ include the new "Satisfaction Manager" technology, which records each automatic or manual adjustment and analyzes this data, providing information about the types of environments the patient typically encounters. This technology helps the practitioner to know how often the patient is wearing the instrument and if they are using the different programs. It also allows the hearing care practitioner to better adjust the hearing instrument to the patient's lifestyle needs.

Dispensers received a demonstration of One! at the annual meeting, where they were able to experience first-hand what a remarkable difference the new technology makes in the resulting sound quality. Beltone also offers advanced field training sessions to help its hearing care practitioners demonstrate this powerful technology. Beltone plans to support the launch with a broadcast and print ad campaign in the fall.
Founded in 1940, Chicago-based Beltone Electronics is part of the GN Hearing Care Group, utilizing advanced technology to produce hearing instruments sold in the United States, Canada and over 40 countries worldwide. In addition to providing outstanding service and support for its U.S. hearing care network operating in over 1,300 offices in North America, Beltone remains the most trusted brand for quality products and care among its patients and adults aged 50 and older.
