Washington, D.C.: CI2023 Cochlear Implants in Children and Adults will feature the (Re)Habilitation Connect Forum on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 1:30-5:15PM at the Hyatt Regency Dallas Hotel in Dallas, Texas. All conference participants may elect to attend the Forum at no additional charge.

As American Cochlear Implant Alliance (ACI Alliance) has grown in number and in reach, awareness of the need to engage and support therapy practitioners and educators more effectively has also grown. The Forum is a featured session at CI2023 Dallas and will emphasize clinically applicable, research-based information. Following the Forum, attendees will Continue the Conversation at a reception, sponsored by Hearing First, providing additional opportunity for attendees to interact with speakers.

Part I will address “Cochlear Implant Intervention and Outcomes for Children with Early Developmental Impairments.” Children who have significant developmental impairments in addition to hearing loss can present challenges for the professionals working with them. This session is presented by John S. Oghalai MD and Holly FB Teagle AuD.

Part II is entitled “Post-Implantation Therapy Benefits Adults, Too.” Frequently, adult cochlear implant recipients do not receive auditory rehabilitation for a variety of reasons, even though evidence supports its benefit. This session will be presented by Linda Thibodeau PhD, CCC-A/SLP and Andrea D. Warner Czyz PhD, CCC-A.

ACI Alliance first presented the (Re)Habilitation Connect Forum at its annual CI conference in 2021. The 2021 forum presentations can be found at www.acialliance.org/page/ci2021virtual and the 2022 forum videos can be found at www.acialliance.org/page/ci2022videos.

Details and a shareable flyer can be found at www.acialliance.org/page/rehabconnect2023.
