SAN JUAN, PR February 14 -- Douglas Beck, AuD, Director of Academic Sciences for Oticon, Inc. was among the featured presenters at the 2017 Puerto Rico Academy of Audiology Conference, held February 2-4 in San Juan. The three-day conference on “The Evolution of Audiology, Diagnostic and Treatment” was attended by nearly 100 audiologists and included lectures by expert speakers including Jackie Clark, PhD, President-Elect of the American Academy of Audiology. Beck presented a two-part lecture on “Cognition, Audition and Amplification” that looked at the newest research on hearing health and cognition and discussed the value of integrating cognitive function screenings and speech-in-noise (SIN) tests into everyday appointments. In a separate session, titled “Tinnitus Evaluation and Management: 2017”, Beck explored current issues in pragmatic tinnitus management.
