Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Outreach

Share:

The recently created Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Outreach is a non-profit organization with a mission of serving as a conduit for prevention, outreach and education for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. FASD is an information processing disorder, often resulting in Central Auditory Processing Disorders (CAPD). Many audiologists work with patients affected by CAPD secondary to FASD.

Please join the U.S. Surgeon General, the Academy of Pediatricians, March of Dimes and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist in their uniform message on alcohol during pregnancy, which is: NO amount of alcohol consumption during pregnancy can be considered safe! To continue to spread this message, FASD Outreach has included this proclamation on its Web site, www.fasdoutreach.org. Hundreds of professionals, government officials, teachers, students, and family members have signed and returned this proclamation that will be listed in The Denver Post as well as other media on September 9th, 2009, National Fetal Alcohol Awareness Day and beyond.

Please consider adding your voice by signing the proclamation, and forwarding it to friends and colleagues to join in support of this important cause. For more information and to view the proclamation, please visit www.fasdoutreach.org.
