June 22, 2018 - (Rockville, MD) The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) has been named one of the Washington, D.C., area's "Top Workplaces" in 2018 by The Washington Post. Employers are selected entirely on the basis of employee surveys. The surveys benchmark organizational health, employee engagement, and compensation among workplaces.

"Top Workplaces is more than just recognition," said Doug Claffey, CEO of Energage, the firm that conducts the surveys. "Our research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement."

"ASHA is thrilled to be once again named as one of the area's Top Workplaces," said ASHA CEO Arlene Pietranton, PhD, CAE. "Receiving this honor from The Washington Post is a reminder and an inspiration for us to continue to strive toward a competitive and rewarding workplace, one that attracts the caliber of talent that is essential to support our members and affiliates in the professions of audiology and speech-language pathology."

ASHA and its fellow award winners will be featured in an award supplement that will appear with the Washington Post’s Sunday, June 24, edition.
