HearUSA has Received URAC Health Network Accreditation

(November 30, 2012)   Palm Beach Gardens, FL – HearUSA announced today that it has received Health Network Re-Accreditation from URAC, a Washington, DC-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry. HearUSA achieved the full three-year accreditation.

URAC’s Health Network Accreditation standards address the methodology of ensuring appropriate patient protections have been established, such as policies for confidentiality of patient information, informed consent, dispute resolution and network management. The standards also cover staff structure and qualifications, quality improvement, information management, oversight of delegated functions such as credentialing, and ethics.

“The accreditation process underscores our commitment to deliver the highest quality, and signals our willingness to earn the most trusted name in hearing care” stated Dr. Cindy Beyer, Sr. VP of Professional Services, Hear USA. “This award is a distinctive accomplishment, setting HearUSA apart as the nation’s only independently accredited hearing network.”

“We applaud HearUSA on achieving URAC Health Network accreditation,” said Alan P. Spielman, URAC president and CEO. “In today’s health care market, URAC accreditation provides a mark of distinction for organizations to demonstrate their commitment to quality health care.”
