As of today, October 16, audiologists who perform electronic transactions must use the standard code sets as defined by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Today is also the effective date for the Administrative Simplification Compliance Act (ASCA) requirement that requires audiology practices with 10 or more full-time equivalent employees to bill Medicare claims electronically.
