Don’t Miss: Jessie Patterson on Pediatric Vestibular Assessment

Our commitment to innovation goes beyond hardware. We are thrilled to highlight a special presentation by Jessie Patterson, Au.D., Ph.D. (Senior Audiology Research Associate, Boys Town National Research Hospital – Omaha, NE), focusing on one of the most challenging areas of diagnostics: Pediatric Vestibular Assessment.

Pediatric vestibular testing is a rapidly growing field, yet it remains clinically complex. Traditional tests like cVEMP or rotary chair can be difficult to perform on infants, children, or individuals with Down syndrome due to low tolerance for goggles or electrodes.

During her session, Dr. Patterson will present a compelling alternative: remote-camera video head impulse testing (vHIT).

What to expect from the presentation:  Dr. Patterson will demonstrate how remote-camera vHIT eliminates the need for goggles or electrodes, making it the ideal solution for difficult-to-test populations while still providing crucial ear-specific information. The session will feature:

  • A comparison of vHIT gain between traditional goggle-based units and remote-camera systems in both healthy and vestibular-impaired subjects.
  • Specific insights into testing pediatric patients and individuals with Down syndrome.
  • A clinical case series illustrating the practical value and accessibility of remote-camera vHIT in a pediatric setting.

This presentation is a must-attend for clinicians looking to make vestibular diagnostics more inclusive and effective for their youngest patients.
