Louisiana Gov Bobby Jindal signed legislation (H.B.276) that establishes a 30-day time period after purchase during which a consumer must be allowed to return a hearing aid for a partial or full refund. The new law mandates that no fees be charged if the return occurs within 3 days of purchase, and that up to a 15% charge is allowed to cover testing, fitting, counseling, etc.. if returned within 30 days of purchase. The law will go into effect on August 15, 2011.
