Madsen Introduces Hand-Held Middle Ear Screener

MINNETONKA, MINNESOTA-- Madsen Electronics, a division of GN ReSound, announces a new hand-held screening tympanometer. The Tymp-Screen™ instrument conducts and auto-tymp at 226 Hz at 85dBSPL and also has the capability of conducting reflex testing at 500Hz, 1,000 Hz, 2,000Hz and 4,000 Hz with the press of a button. The Tymp-Screen is available with an infrared printing station which allows the hearing professional to conduct testing up to 25 feet away from the printer, point the device at the printer and initiate a printed copy of the patient test. It is battery operated and can conduct up to 1,000 tests before recharging. The complete system arrives with an eartip kit which includes 5 sizes of reusable eartips, printing station, charging unit, batteries, printing paper, test cavity, and a hardshell Samsonite® case. The Tymp-Screen alone sells for under $2,000.00 making it an affordable screening instrument for any hearing practice. Madsen also provides a limited 2-year warranty on the Tymp-Screen. It's portability and ease of use, make it ideal for both in-office and home testing. A number of states are now requiring that hearing professionals conduct middle-ear testing as part of a comprehensive hearing examination.
