NEW EXPRESSfit™ SOFTWARE NOW AVAILABLE!

IMPROVES SOUND QUALITY!
New versions of SONIC innovation's EXPRESSfit software were released on October 14, 1999. These new software products, EXPRESSfit for NOAH 1.2 and EXPRESSfit 1.3 (for PalmPilot) contain a number of new features and enhancements designed to make NATURA™ hearing aids sound more natural than ever. They also make fitting a NATURA hearing aid even easier than before. SONIC innovations is excited about these new software releases and wants to thank their customers for their input. Many of these new features and enhancements were developed directly as a result of suggestions from customers.

PATIENTS HEAR THE DIFFERENCE!
The new software includes improved user functionality as well as a new algorithm. 'Patients are telling us that the new algorithm makes things sound even more natural than before,' says Dr. Victor Bray, Director of Audiological Research for SONIC innovations. 'Even the most discriminating and knowledgeable patients in our research line are saying 'WOW!' when they hear for the first time the difference the new algorithm and software makes.'

Dr. Glen Lund, an Otolaryngologist in Bountiful, UT, is one example of this effect. Dr. Lund, a previous monaural wearer, was fit with a pair of NATURA ITEs several months ago. And until recently, Dr. Lund was pleased with his NATURA hearing aids, but not completely satisfied. 'The aids sounded good before, but there was a hint of an echo in certain situations,' said Dr. Lund. 'But since they reprogrammed my aids using their new software, the echo has been virtually eliminated and the aids sound much more natural than before.' Concludes Dr. Lund, a partner at Lake Hills ENT, 'I like them so much I plan to incorporate NATURA into my own practice and fit them on some of my friends.'

EXPRESSfit New Features:
* EXPRESSfit for NOAH now incorporates a 'Read from Hearing Aid' feature. This feature allows you to conduct a fitting session using data already stored in the hearing aid.
You can now adjust an audiogram from within the EXPRESSfit for NOAH fitting module in the View Audiogram screen.
* In EXPRESSfit for NOAH, the 'Revert to Audiogram' and 'Revert to Dynamic Range' functions now allow you to select whether to reset the data for one or both ears.
* Transfer functions for T-coils have been added to both EXPRESSfit for NOAH and the PalmPilot to make programming the T-coil even easier than ever.
* The software places limits on the hearing aids based on new fitting ranges for each NATURA model (see below).

EXPRESSfit Enhancements:
* The new EXPRESSfit for NOAH software eliminates the redundant 'Disable HI-PRO' messages. For example, when making a monaural fitting or adjustment to a patient with two audiograms specified, you will no longer encounter a series of screens in which you have to reaffirm the monaural nature of your work.
* An Undo function has been added to both software releases so you can reverse the most recent change you have made to the fitting if necessary.
* EXPRESSfit software now automatically sets the fitting to the recommended Expansion setting based on the audiogram. Of course, you can still change the Expansion setting based on patient preferences.

IMPORTANT NOTE
If a patient whose aid was programmed by a previous version of EXPRESSfit software comes in for an adjustment to his or her fitting, the new software will place the new limits on that aid. For the vast majority of patients, this will result in improved performance and increased satisfaction. However, there may be an occasion where it does not.
