'A Sound Foundation Through Early Amplification'

Recent developments in pediatric audiology provide for the accurate detection of hearing impairment in infancy. Consequently, there are now a greater number of young infants and families requiring effective early intervention services. After the overwhelming success of the 1st international pediatric conference, Phonak is proud to announce the 2nd international conference 'A Sound Foundation Through Early Amplification'. The conference will focus on maximizing the use of residual hearing in infants through provision of early amplification.

Presentations by an impressive panel of internationally acclaimed experts in the field of pediatric audiology will address everyday service delivery issues. General topics include auditory development, auditory assessment for hearing instrument fitting, pediatric hearing instrument fitting, special sessions on high-frequency amplification, candidacy and management considerations.

Participants should be able to integrate newly acquired knowledge from the conference in their daily practice. The program has been especially designed to allow interactions with all faculty members during breaks and social activities.

The conference steering committee is chaired by Dr. Richard Seewald (Canada) and includes Dr. John Bamford (United Kingdom), Dr. Judith Gravel (USA) and Dr. Patricia Stelmachowicz (USA).
