ReSound Announces Creation of Global Audiology Group

Minneapolis, MN (December 8, 2009) - "Effective hearing care demands the seamless application of technology to meet the needs of individuals with hearing impairment," said Laurel Christensen, Chief Audiology Officer for ReSound. "As technology continues to evolve, the needs of the hearing-impaired and the needs of those dispensing hearing instruments must continue to drive product development."

In recognition of this, ReSound is pleased to announce the creation of a Global Audiology department. Global Audiology will combine and leverage the vast audiology expertise within the company today to provide the necessary audiologic perspective during the entire process of hearing instrument design from concept to release into the market.



Laurel Christensen, Ph.D. has been named Chief Audiology Officer for the company and will lead the team of 25 audiologists located in the US, Europe, and Asia. Her management team includes: John Nelson, Ph.D., Vice President, Audiology Global Relations;Jennifer Groth, M.A., Director, Audiology Communications;Charlotte Jespersen, M.A., Director, Audiology Development;and Todd Fortune, Ph.D., Director, Audiology Systems and Design. The team will draw upon scientific rigor and in-depth clinical experience to guide new product development that is both advanced and practical. In addition, this team will be responsible for technical training in the global markets and supporting local sales efforts world-wide
