Signia Unveils Cellion primax, the World's Most Advanced Lithium-Ion Inductive Rechargeable Hearing Aid

Share:
  •     Powerful wireless inductive charging technology positions Cellion ahead of the competition
  •     Provides up to two days of regular use* with virtually unlimited streaming capabilities - all on a single charge
  •     Will be available in a tiny RIC** housing on the primax platform in 12 colors

Signia, the industry´s most experienced, global leader in rechargeable hearing aid solutions, today unveils Cellion primax™, the world’s first lithium-ion-powered rechargeable hearing aid to make use of wireless inductive charging technology. Cellion primax will give hearing aid wearers the convenience of virtually unlimited wireless streaming for up to two days’ use on a single charge*. Available this Fall, Cellion is powerful enough to treat up to severe hearing loss yet is comparable in size to Signia’s best-selling Pure® primax. The hearing aids are currently targeting an IP-68 rating and will be offered in the 7px and 5px performance levels.

Intelligently designed for smarter, simpler charging

Because the Cellion hearing aid battery is completely integrated and sealed into the housing, the wearer no longer needs to worry about opening and closing small battery doors or fumbling with tiny batteries. Moreover, it is the eco-friendliest approach, saving hundreds of disposable zinc-air batteries during a hearing aid lifetime.

Cellion hearing aid battery charger

Unlike other lithium-ion and silver-zinc rechargeable hearing aids that work with older, galvanic charging technology via contacts, Signia´s Cellion primax has no charging contacts. This eliminates the hassle of exactly aligning the hearing aid inside a charger, making the entire system more reliable and convenient for wearers.

Once the hearing instruments are placed in the charger, they turn themselves off automatically and immediately begin to charge. When the instruments are removed, the hearing aids intuitively know to turn themselves back on.

“Cellion primax further cements Signia’s reputation as the world leader in rechargeable hearing aids,” says Roger Radke, CEO of Sivantos Group. “When Signia launched primax earlier this year, we introduced the concept of clinically-proven reduced listening effort. With Cellion primax, we’re taking that a step further by being the only manufacturer to offer wearers all the benefits of primax technology with effortless charging, too.”

More power, same trusted energy efficiency

Cellion primax has the industry’s most powerful, yet energy-efficient power cell, providing up to 50mAh or 70 percent more energy than a standard size 13 rechargeable battery (30mAh). Cellion primax hearing aids are fully charged in only four hours and ready to use for up to two days*, even with full-time audio streaming. The 30-minute fast charge feature enables more than seven hours of hearing enjoyment. The Li-ion battery will last several years and can be easily replaced by a hearing care professional, if necessary.

Micro USB adaptor for on-the-go charging

Another unique advantage for Cellion wearers: convenience, even when traveling. The charger unit is equipped with a standard micro USB interface that gives wearers the freedom to charge their hearing aids with nearly any USB-compatible power source (e.g. laptops, car adapters, power packs).

A legacy of rechargeable innovation

Signia has been the industry leader in energy-efficient rechargeable hearing aid solutions since 2007 when it introduced Centra Active® as its first rechargeable hearing aids. Thanks to the eCharger™ accessory, Signia hearing aid wearers have been able to enjoy all the benefits of rechargeability for nearly a decade.
