Question

What CPT codes do you use for TRT and hyperacusis therapy?

Answer

There are no specific codes for TRT or for tinnitus and hyperacusis. Obviously for some general tests typical codes can be used. All other non-recognized procedures are using 99 code. Some of the codes we are using:

92557 Comprehensiveaudiometry, including air, bone, and speech.

92552 Pure tone audiogram.

92588 Distortion product otoacoustic emissions.

92599 * Tinnitus pitch match (matching the pitch of the of tinnitus with pure tone or narrow band noise).

92599 * Tinnitus loudness match (matching the loudness of tinnitus with pure tone, narrow band, or white noise).

92599* Tinnitus minimum masking levels.

92599 * Loudness discomfort levels (multi-frequency measurement of the maximal loudness of sound tolerated by the patient).

99499 * TRT counseling (you can name it tinnitus and hyperacusis counseling)

Positions marked with ''*'' are typically non covered by the insurance.
