Question

Introducing the Baha® 7 Sound Processor - Powerfully Small, Better Connected

Answer

In 2025, Cochlear expanded its bone conduction portfolio with the launch of the Baha® 7 Sound Processor, designed to deliver improved hearing performance in a compact, modern form. Alongside the processor, important updates were introduced to wireless accessories and Baha Fitting Software—making this an excellent time for clinicians to refresh and expand their knowledge.

Led by Ginger Grant and Jonathan Hirst, this AudiologyOnline course covers:

  • An overview of Cochlear’s full bone conduction portfolio

  • Guidance on patient candidacy and which individuals benefit most from Baha System technology

  • A detailed look at Baha 7 Sound Processor features, connectivity advancements, and updated fitting workflows

  • Practical instruction on using Remote Assist to streamline both initial fittings and ongoing patient support

Whether you currently see bone conduction candidates or are looking to add this specialty to your practice, this on-demand session provides a clear, accessible introduction to the latest generation of Baha technology.

Chronic Otitis Media (COM) may contribute more than half of the global burden of hearing loss, but there is no global consensus on diagnostic and treatment guidelines for hearing loss due to the disease. Research suggests that bone conduction may be an effective and patient-preferred alternative to treating COM-related hearing loss versus hearing aids for many patients, providing consistent and reliable access to sound regardless of the disease cycle. Topics in this course will include background on the disease process, an introduction to bone conduction solutions, and expected outcomes of the intervention.
