In this course, participants will learn about the iotaSOFT CI electrode array insertion system, relevant and emerging patient outcomes data, and how this technology can help patients move forward with a CI sooner. Special emphasis will be given to pediatric populations and the decisions parents face when choosing a CI for their child(ren) and how iotaSOFT can help them gain confidence in their decision. New data on patient preferences will also be shared.

Dr. Camille Dunn is an Associate Professor and the Director of the Cochlear Implant Program at the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Iowa. She earned her Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She holds an Audiology License from the State of Iowa and a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology. She is the Principal Investigator of a project supported by the NIH-NIDCD to investigate the impact of intervention on auditory functioning and disability. Additionally, she is the Principal Investigator of an NIH-NIA project investigating the effects of daily social interactions on cognitive decline in persons with age-related hearing loss who use cochlear implants or hearing aids.
