Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive hearing evaluations using advanced diagnostic equipment.
• Recommend and fit hearing aids tailored to each patient's individual needs.
• Review pricing and sale of hearing aids as part of the patient education process.
• Provide ongoing support and counseling to patients regarding hearing aid use, maintenance, and adjustments.
• Assist audiologists as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, audiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Perform real-ear measurements for hearing aid verification.
• Complete continuing education units (CEUs) each year.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• AAS in Hearing Instrument Specialist preferred
• Hearing Instrument Specialist licensure as required by Virginia state law. Must have successfully completed the state licensing requirements to be deemed a Hearing Instrument Fitter/Dispenser
• Excellent listening, sales, and problem-solving skills that allow effective working relationships with diverse customer, colleague, and vendor populations.
• Strong keyboard/computer/Audiology diagnostic and hearing aid software and equipment experience
