VEMP Testing and Analysis with the GSI Audera Pro

View Course Details Please note: exam questions are subject to change.

1.  The GSI VEMP Analysis Module can be used for
  1. Collecting cVEMP recordings
  2. Biofeedback monitoring during cVEMP
  3. Waveform marking and automatic asymmetry ratio calculation
  4. Creating optimal VEMP test protocols
2.  Collection oVEMPs and cVEMPs requires:
  1. A loud stimulus or vibration, electrodes placed near or on a muscle and calculation of the asymmetry ratio for analysis.
  2. A patient with normal hearing, a loud stimulus or vibration and calculation of the asymmetry ratio for analysis.
  3. A loud stimulus or vibration, electrodes placed near or on a muscle and comparing the latency of marked peaks to normative data for analysis.
  4. A loud stimulus or vibration, electrodes placed on the right and left ear lobes and calculation of the asymmetry ratio for analysis.
3.  The difference between an oVEMP and cVEMP protocols are
  1. oVEMP uses a high frequency tone burst and cVEMP utilizes a low frequency tone burst
  2. The stimulus intensity should be below 60 dBnHL for oVEMP
  3. The test protocols are the same; the electrodes are placed in different locations on the head.
  4. The amplifier gain and high pass filter settings.
4.  The CPT Codes for oVEMP and cVEMP testing
  1. Are not available
  2. Are new for 2021
  3. Can only be used when also performing VNG testing
  4. Should be used with every ABR
5.  During cVEMP and oVEMP testing
  1. The patient should sleep to avoid artifact.
  2. The patient is required to perform a specific task for the duration of the test.
  3. Biofeedback monitoring is necessary.
  4. The patient should turn their head to their shoulder and hold.
