1.  While electric hearing is critical for speech understanding, people who have enjoyed the benefits of the Nucleus 7 acoustic component have:
  1. Residual low-frequency hearing that is better than a severe hearing loss between 125 Hz – 2000 Hz.
  2. Residual low-frequency hearing that is better than 30 dB between 250 Hz – 500 Hz
  3. Severe-to-profound sensorineural hearing loss across the frequency range.
  4. A hearing aid on one ear and a cochlear implant on the other ear.
2.  Receiver options for the Nucleus 7 Sound processor include:
  1. Receivers are available in small, medium and large
  2. The receivers are available in 3 power variations and can be cut to fit the right length.
  3. There are 3 receiver types and 4 receiver lengths
  4. There are 5 colors to choose from
3.  The domes that are available for the 60 and 85 receivers are:

  1. Is designed to ensure that patients rely primarily on the acoustic hearing for speech understanding.
  2. Is a new feature that we have not had access to before.
  3. May be set at ≤70 dB HL up to 500 Hz. This is unchanged from Custom Sound 5.2.
  4. May be set at ≤90 dB HL up to 2 kHz. This is unchanged from Custom Sound 5.2.
5.  In Custom Sound Pro, the electric frequency cut-off is set at:
  1. >50 dB up to 1kHz for new MAPs
  2. >70 dB HL up to 2kHz for new MAPs
  3. >70 dB HL up to 10kHz for new MAPs
  4. >50 dB HL up to 10kHz for new MAPs
