OAE CPT Coding for Newborn Hearing Screening

The congenital CMV (cCMV) series presents the latest research on diagnosis and treatment, raise awareness, delineate prevention efforts, provide information about early intervention options, and disseminate family support resources in an effort to reduce the number of babies infected with cCMV.

Primary Care Providers are often the first contact when a parent expresses concern about their child – whether it be concern about speech development, articulation, or suspicion about a possible hearing impairment. Knowing what we know about hearing impairment in children and the urgent need for early intervention, timely and appropriate referrals are essential. This presentation covers how primary care providers can leverage a variety of hearing screening technologies to facilitate referrals to audiologists and ENT specialists.

This course will provide an overview of cortical auditory evoked potentials, current research, benefits and limitations to using CAEPs in a busy clinic, and several case studies.

The course explores ways to draw on Deaf professionals' expertise in working with families of Deaf and hard of hearing infants and young children. A highlight of Deaf people's knowledge, experiences, expertise, and contributions in the EHDI (Early Hearing Detection and Intervention) System will be discussed.

This course is designed to be a learning discussion regarding the key differences in modern pediatric vs adult audiology. Clinical differences will be discussed; however, the primary focus is on learning business differences.
